Vice President of Software Quality Assurance, North Suburban Boston

 Job Description

The Vice President of Software Quality Assurance is a senior member of the Software Development team reporting to the Sr Vice President & CTO.  The position will manage a global team responsible for the testing, verification and qualification of new and follow on releases across all product lines. This successful candidate will guide the SQA organization through product releases by defining overall test strategies, performing resource planning, and leading tool selection, test coverage approaches, and establishing metric dashboards facilitate communication of progress and quality assurance initiatives within an Agile engineering environment.  The candidate must have demonstrated ability to lead effectively across diverse, co-located teams, and have a proven record of success working with an outsourced service model. 

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a Software Quality Assurance environment with a minimum of 10 years previous Software Quality Assurance senior management experience.
  • Experience within a regulated environment is highly desired.
  • Understanding of Scrum Agile development and SQA methodologies

 

·        Prior experience managing geographically distributed teams - including extended off-shore project teams is critical.

  • Requires a strong understanding of SQA methodologies and practices, including use case based testing and automation development for the purpose of continuous integration.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functional boundaries and across multiple organizational levels to drive results.
  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal, negotiation, influence and relationship management skills that enable collaborative working relationships to be developed with other business units.
  • Demonstrated ability & experience working in a matrixed environment; proven experience building and managing Software Quality Assurance teams.
  • Excellent written/verbal skills for communicating with senior management, project team members and external stakeholders are a must
