Director
Tom Snyder Productions/Scholastic,
developer of innovative educational software products, is seeking a Project Director.
Job Summary:
The Project
Director is responsible for managing the design, development, and production of
a large scale, technology-based math solution for Scholastic. The main job responsibilities
will take place at Tom Snyder Productions in Watertown, MA with frequent
updates and trips to Scholastic headquarters in New York City.
Primary Responsibilities:

Create
and oversee development plans and schedules for each phase of the project, including
the milestones and deliverables
·
Organize
the product planning phase by working with research and content partners
·
Work
with the Director of Product Planning to maximize use of all math project resources/schedule
and budget
·
Coordinate
project efforts across development teams (engineering, editorial, QA, design,
etc.) and across functional areas (marketing, sales, design, etc.) in Watertown
and NY
·
Provide
regular reports to the management team on project progress
·
Negotiate
and manage contracts with outside vendors
·
Hire
and manage contractors to complete project goals
·
Establish
a communication process and meeting schedule to facilitate development efforts
·
Identify,
track, and mitigate project risks, negotiating tradeoffs between priorities and
schedules/budgets
Minimum Qualifications:
·
Bachelor’s
degree required
·
Minimum
6 years experience producing educational technology projects, with at least 2 years
guiding large scale projects
·
Strong
software project management skills
·
Excellent
problem-solving skills
·
Knowledge
of math and the educational math market desired
·
Strong
interpersonal skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
·
Experience
managing enterprise level technology projects with a student management system
and reporting
