Software Quality Assurance Engineer (#2532SGC)

Location: NW Suburbs (495 belt)
Client: Medical Diagnostics supplier

Primary Function:

• Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test procedures for variety of Microsoft Windows based instrumentation products.
• Perform and maintain software build process and defect-tracking database for multiple projects.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and maintain manual and automated test procedures for unit and system testing, documentation and environment.
• Participate in software design reviews, requirements review and generation, testing, and problem reporting and resolution.
• Conduct code review activities.
• Develop software release processes and perform software builds during development.
• Implement and administer software defect tracking database, product requirements tracking database, and software configuration control database.
• Troubleshoot new and existing instrumentation software.
• Support software related issues in the field as required.
• Other duties as required.

Experience:

• 5 years experience in software testing and verification, preferably for instrumentation products.
• Experience in developing and maintaining automated and manual software test procedures for Microsoft Windows or other Graphical User Interface platforms.
• Experience with software development and software quality assurance processes in a rapid development environment.
• Experience with administering and controlling problem reporting database.
• Experience with configuration management and configuration control.

Education and/or Experience:

• BS degree, preferably in an Engineering/scientific discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five to ten years experience in Quality Assurance in the Medical or Diagnostics Device industry with increasing responsibility.
