Head of Quality Assurance – Trading Technology

Our client is a leading investment management and hedge fund firm with a refreshing corporate culture that encourages curiosity and learning from the newest hire to the CEO.  They hire the best and the brightest and maintain the highest standards of excellence.  Dependable trading technology is critical to our client’s business.  Proprietary trading software products are developed by our client’s Trading Technology team.  They are looking for a Head of Quality Assurance to design, staff, and run a new QA team.   As Head of QA, you will oversee a team tasked with ensuring that all of the software created by our client’s technology groups is of high quality and well tested. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

--Manage direct reports, oversee and audit distributed QA staff, and work to create a QA shared service that can be leveraged throughout the firm

--Design the team structure, roles, and responsibilities of team members, and staff and manage the team accordingly

--Define and implement processes and standards for firm-wide technology Quality Assurance

--Design, implement, and oversee all QA shared services

--Create, organize, and deliver QA training

 

REQUIREMENTS

--Bachelor’s degree, in Finance, Computer Science, or Engineering, with demonstrated academic success at a leading college or university

--5 years’ experience running a QA team

--Significant experience creating a QA team from scratch

--Experience defining and enforcing QA standards in an enterprise environment

--Experience integrating testing and QA at different phases of the software development lifecycle

--Experience running QA shared services (e.g., replication of test environments)

--Expert-level knowledge of a variety of testing tools and methodologies

--Expert in automated testing methodologies and implementation

--Skilled at managing teams to a high standard of excellence

--Exceptional leadership aptitude, an open and engaging personality, excellent communication skills, and a quick mind

--Highly intelligent and driven and possessing exceptional common sense

--Comfortable giving and receiving criticism, managing initiatives, and taking charge

--Experience in Financial Services is a plus
