The Sr. Programmer Analyst will assume responsibility for a regional project or a large phase of a project — from specification to delivery.

 

JOB SUMMARY

  • Create workplans and/or project plans.
  • Produce written documentation.
  • Drive implementation of projects.
  • Proficient in development on one or more platforms and able to act as a lead on projects.
  • Lead technical design and/or architecture
  • Develop and construct moderate to complex level applications
  • Follow and enforce development standards and general guidelines of the Technical Infrastructure Plan.
  • Develop unit test plans and support documentation as needed.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance for junior staff members.
  • Work with other IT groups to coordinate efforts on projects.
  • Interface with technical vendor contacts for project approval and problem resolution.
  • Provide high quality and quick response production support and resolve Help Desk tickets are required. 
  • Guides/directs junior staff members
  • Pursues opportunities to develop technical and functional expertise
  • Assists in providing technical and functional expertise
  • Plans own and assigned cast member’s time to meet project deliverable goals.
  • Works with supervisors to develop and maintain the estimating methodology to deliver and monitor accurate & realistic development/project estimates.
  • Capable of managing 2-3 programmers/analysts.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects
  • Creates workplan and time estimates
  • Follows policies and procedures
  • Advises on budget development
  • Assists in interviews for resources
  • Monitors project relationships
  • Assists in prioritizing projects based on objectives and priorities
  • Participate in the development of standard tools and methodologies including design and programming standards.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • May act as IT liaison to one or more business groups.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent required.  Desired BS and/or MS in Computer Science / Engineering. 
  • 3-5 years in Information Technology.  Fortune 500 experience preferred
  • Relational Database Concepts
  • Object oriented development
  • SQL Server or Oracle
  • Experience with the following software a plus:
    • Universe/PICK
    • PL/SQL
    • Unix, Shell Scripting, RDB
    • HTML, XML
    • ASP, II
    • Java & VB Script
    • COM/DCOM
